BLS Marine Services Nigeria Limited prides itself on the calibre of its staff, from our Directors and Office Support Staff to our Deployed Field Operators; we aim to ensure that we only select the most suitable personnel for each task. Our Security Operations Managers in Lagos have been selected based on their wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in their particular fields and in depth knowledge of Nigeria and the Nigerian security sector.
All of our Operations Staff will have had their skills honed during many years delivering security support operations in Nigeria.
They will learn and understand our operating procedures, core values and client expectations. This intimate knowledge of our company, coupled with their in-country experience, will ensure that BLS Marine will become a market leader in onshore and offshore security support operations in Nigeria.
Our land based consultants and offshore Maritime Safety Liaison Officers, both Nigerian and expatriate, will be carefully selected for their skills sets, security experience and experience of working in Nigeria. All will undergo extensive training prior to being selected to represent BLS Marine.
As well as certified qualifications, we choose our personnel based on a number of other factors that we feel are important for the role:
- Excellent Communications Skills – It is vital that our contractors are confident and professional when communicating with a wide range of people, including local Nigerian Law enforcement personnel, the Nigerian Navy, local authorities and our clients.
- Personality – A calm but authoritative demeanour and the ability to adapt to ever-changing operational situations
- Experience – All our consultants will have at least 6-months private security sector experience working in Nigeria
